The Tightrope Socks, Pattern

 

Introducing, the Tightrope Socks. These socks feature hand-dyed yarn, Judy's Magic cast on, and Jenny's Surprisingly Bindoff.  This is my first blog exclusive pattern and I can't wait to share it with everyone.  It comes in many sizes perfect for a gift or matching set. 

Supplies

bulk 4 yarn 

    I am using my hand-dyed yarn in the colorway, Tightrope, 100% wool

US size 6 Circular knitting needles. 

Daring/ tapestry needle 

scissors

Abbreviations 

K=knit,
P=Purl
KFB= knit front back
M1r=Make one right,
Bo= beginning of the round

DS=Double Stitch

Cast-On/toe

I am using Judy magic cast on, 8,

(You can work it two at a time Too)

Row 1: Knit across all stitches,

Row 2: k1r till the last stitch, KFB

Then on the next your next round, you will repeat rounds 1-2 till you have: 18(36) 20(40), 24 (48)

The Body

Round 1. knit all stitches. 

Repeat all steps for about 4-6 IN, It will vary on which size you will be knitting. 

Heal, Start at the Bo of the round

Row 1 (RS): Knit all stitches on one needle (18, 20, or 24 st)

Row 2 (WS): DS, purl to the end of the row, turn work.

3 (RS): DS, knit to double stitch, turn work.

Row4 (WS): DS, purl to double stitch, turn work.

Repeat the last 2 rows until you have 4-6 double stitches, depending on size!

Heel continued

Row 1 (RS): knit till first DS, k2tog.

Row 2 (WS Slip first stitch, P across till the last stitch, and P2tog

Repeat till you reach your starting point of the heel.

The Top Body

Round 1.  Knit all stitches

Continue for 3 repeats of round 1-6 rounds.

The Cuff

*K1, p1* rib 5 rows

Finishing

Bind Off using Jenny’s Magic Bind Off
