There are two patterns in one, whether you want a sherpa Hat
or a Cotton bucket hat for summer, there is a pattern. The modifications are
straightforward just switch the yarn you’re using for either hat and you’ll be able
to make your hat! There’s also a full YouTube video!

Supplies
Yarn: About 6-10 Oz. of Worsted
or, 3 oz or of Sherpa,
Hooks: 4.5mm Or G crochet Hook, or
a 10mm/N
Tape Measure
Tapestry Needle
Scissors
Abbreviations
DC = Double
Crochet
SC = Single
crochet
BLO= Back loops
only
St= Stitch
Pattern
Top of the hat:
create a magic ring, and HDC 10 st into the ring.
Rd 1. Chain 2, 2 HDC st into the same ch space (Increase
st), HDC* Across all st.
Rd 2, Chain 2, 2 HDC st into the same ch space (Increase
st), HDC for 3 st * Across all st. 3 HDC in between the increases.
The
increases will increase one st in between the increases.
As follows:
RD 1. 1 st between the increases
RD 2. 2 st between.
So, if you have one increase you have one stitch, the next
round you’ll have one increase st, and 2 regular st, the next round one
increase st= 3 regular stitches in between.

Once you reach our desired Diameter:
Sc in back loops only for one round.
SHERPA: HDC for about 5 to 15 rows for Sherpa,
Or
COTTON: HDC 10 25 rounds cotton
IN BACK
LOOPS ONLY: single crochet one round.
Following
the original increases:
Rd 1. Chain
2, 2 HDC st into the same ch space (Increase st), HDC* Across all st.
Rd 2, Chain
2, 2 HDC st into the same ch space (Increase st), HDC for 3 st * Across all
st. 3 HDC in between the increases.
Create your brim of a desired length, I did about 3-7 rounds for mine!
